ACV Hair Conditioner Recipe

acv conditioner

Around the time I was making the research to move to a natural skin-care regimen, and discovering the magic that is Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV), I stumbled across a couple of recipes for a conditioner that promised me shiny, bouncy hair and no-dandruff! Imagine that!!! None of that dry, itchy thing I had going on near the end of every week.

NB: Your hair doesn’t end up smelling like vinegar all day. As all volatile liquids, the vinegar smell dissipates as your hair dries.

Ingredients:

Apple Cider Vinegar

Distilled (read: boiled) Water

My Personal Recipe:

Mix 1 part ACV to 1 part Distilled Water

Instructions:

  • Apply the ACV conditioner after washing the shampoo out of the hair
  • Let it sit in the hair for at least 20-30 mins, sometimes I leave it in waaayyy longer
  • Wash out/ Rinse
  • Style hair as desired

Extra Pointers:

  • When I used to use a thicker leave-in conditioner, I would wait a day or two before I applied it, because the ACV rinse does such a wonderful job at it already! You can however, add your preferred conditioner in at this point, as I do now because I use a lighter one.
  • I usually make enough for a month or 2, it doesn’t get spoilt at all.
