Semanda As A Hawker
Before becoming a fashion designer, brand director Charles Semanda was a street hawker peddling items like cooking pans and cutlery for his father in the streets of Bwaise, Kalerwe, Kazo and Nabweru. This was the source of his livelihood and school fees.
Having won the previous year’s SEED show finale, he got to present a collection at the 2017 Kampala Fashion Week and the inspiration was his life before he discovered the art of fashion in 2014. The specific moment? When he saw an old picture of himself and his sister from 2012 on the streets of Kampala.
